Partnering for Progress: Supporting Groundbreaking Glioma Research in Honour of Jake McCarthy

We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with one of the most influential charities in the Brain Tumour field, The Brain Tumour Charity, by donating £30000 to their innovative glioma research. Having attended their ‘meet the researchers day’ & listening to the different projects they are supporting we were impressed to hear of the work being carried out by one of their Junior Fellows Dr. Tyler Miller. The aim of Dr.Millers research is the reprogramming of immune cells to improve treatment options for glioma patients, at present there is little treatment for patients with Glioblastoma, the type of Brain Tumour that robbed us of our son Jake & with a mean survival time of 15 months. With that in mind we felt this research project was a good fit for The Jake McCarthy Foundation in a hope to find a cure for this devastating disease. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us as it’s you that have donated this money to support this research project and of course a huge thank you to Dr.Tyler Miller & his team.

A message from Dr.Tyler Miller

“I'm very honoured and humbled to have The Jake McCarthy Foundation support our work. These funds will be used, in honour of Jake, to advance our efforts in developing effective immunotherapies for glioblastoma. Currently, there are no treatments that are truly effective for patients with this devastating disease. However, with the support of dedicated advocates and fundraisers like The Jake McCarthy Foundation, we are confident that we can make significant strides toward changing this and improving patient outcomes."
